My wife and I went to Tucson on a hunch 6 years ago for a quick 3 day. Since then, we've gone to Tucson every summer and stayed at Ventana Canyon. It never gets old. Fabulous property with nature trails, hiking paths, and more; all against one of the best visual backdrops in the Southwest. Rooms are beyond spacious, and the usual 4th Floor balconies are on-point. Perhaps the icing on the cake is the bathroom and the monster bathtub. Awesome hotel, complete with spa, pool, exercise facilities and in 2 golf courses onsite. If you go to Tucson for a quick weekend or an extended vacay, treat yourself (or your significant other) to a great resort.

Beautiful architcture and very comfortable rooms. Our room's patio sat right on the lush desert landscape and we could hear the creek running along the trailhead 50 feet away. Lot's of outdoor activities available. My one HUGE complaint is that the jacuzzi is used by children as a kids pool. Gross....and you know why. Not comfortable for adults to sit it and feel relaxed or clean! Also, we paid for our reservations before we arrived and when checking in were told we must pay an upgrade fee because our rooms were now not available...even though we prepaid for our rooms. Reserved two rooms in advance and they were at opposite ends of the wings of the hotel. It is a large hotel so there can be some long walks to get to anything. But destinations are always worth it. Internet is NOT included and is not cheap. But overall, a really spectacular hotel for a good price with lots to do. They just need more adult areas and definitely an adults only jacuzzi. It makes it less than fun for adults without children. Trails up and around the rear of property and hillside is a lush desert garden and ends on a natural waterfall that is well worth the walk every morning. Private benches along the creek for a quiet break from the noice of the kids in the pool area. Gorgeous tennis courts and lap pool are just a jaunt across the front the property where there are more water features and views of Tucson below. But i prefer our room way back on the wings of the hotel facing the mountain that the hotel is set into. That is why you are in Tucson. Would consider again staying at this hotel. For day trips: The Old cold war Tritan Missle site tour is life changing. Skip Tubac. We were told it was and "artist town" and it is just a town full of junk. Definetly stop into the artist home and gardens of Ted de Grazia which is just around the corner from the Lowes hotel. Takes you back to old Tucson. And younger, cool, hip people are filling up the Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson at night. IT is really a fun area to listen to music, see the in crowd, artist types, cool gay crowd, straight hipsters and the like. And there are a doze nightclubs in the area to easily walk to from the Hotel Congress. Go late, it starts late.

We sure wish we could go back to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort today! The graduation of our youngest grandson was in Las Cruces New Mexico. After three weeks in Las Cruces we decided to go to see some friends in Palm Desert, CA on our way home to Southern CA. My daughter suggested Lowes Resort, just a little off the freeway in Tucson, AZ. She made our reservations online and the rest is history! We are retired so we can go almost any time we can gather some finances together to pay for the trip. It was a most enjoyable Resort. The service was perfect!!!
