Overlooking the gulf, Holiday Inn Galveston on the Beach is located at the San Luis Resort, approximately a quarter-mile from Rainforest Cafe & Adventure Ride and 70 miles from Bush Intercontinental Airport. This location is also a quarter-mile from the Sea Turtle Research Facility, three miles from Strand shopping/entertainment district and Bishop's Palace, and four miles from Port of Galveston Cruise Terminal and the Galveston Island Ferry.

Hotel amenities include the swimming pool, fitness room, gift shop, Jetty Restaurant, and B'Jiggers Lounge with live entertainment and happy hour specials. The hotel also offers room service, valet laundry service, babysitting, bell service, safety deposit, free parking, and shuttle service to and from the cruise terminals and within a six-mile radius of the hotel.
