Amanpuri, place of peace, is built on a coastal hillside on Phuket. The island is connected to Thailands phang-nga province by bridge and is surrounded by the Andaman sea which joins the Indian ocean to the south. On Phukets west coast is pansea beach from where a stairway leads up to the resorts main pool and facilities. The resorts guest accommodations of 40 pavilions are interspersed within a coconut plantation connected by elevated walkways with colonnades. Also available for rental and adjoining the resort to the north, are 30 villa homes managed by Amanpuri.The new Amanpuri glass-walled gym duplex is perched high on a hillside with spectacular views of the Andaman Sea. The fully-equipped gym is over 350sq meter and has a floor-to-ceiling glass juice bar on the first floor.*On an annual basis, Amanpuri undergoes a refurbishment program that involves maintenance work on the resort's lobby areas and suites. From now until September 2008, Amanpuri will be undergoing improvements to its facilities but services will remain unaffected.
