  • Hotel has had some structural damage due to recent earthquake 10/15/06 and the 8th floor is currently closed. About 1/3 of the beach front will not be accessible.
The Mauna Kea Beach hotel made the difficult decision to close the hotel for an indefinite period for repairs due to the damage incurred in the October 15th earthquake for the safety and well being of our guests and staff. For the time being we have closed the hotel in all electronic booking channels through 2007 and are working hard to contact guests to help them change their travel plans. We truly appreciate your understanding and patience during this challenging time, and thank you for your continuing support of Prince Resorts Hawaii. Crescent-shaped with pure white sands and shimmering aqua waters, it is perfect for water sports including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Even at night, guests step onto a circular lava outcropping overlooking the Bay, to watch the manta rays swim beneath. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, SR., the Mauna Kea golf Course remains the standard by which all other island courses are judged.
